Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice, I think your getting awfully close to getting compared to the wicked steps sisters from Cinderella.

Wedding Love
As a girl who just got engaged, the wedding of Kate & William has made me completely swoon. I know today is Jay’s day to post but I think the blog can handle a post from the both of us in one day. And since today is moving day, Jay’s post may be delayed. Hopefully it won’t be. I can’t wait to see what he comes up with! But I’d understand if it’s delayed because he is seriously, at this very moment, moving our furniture into the condo with his gracious brother!
But back to the wedding. My favorite sense I got from the wedding was the understated elegance that Kate brought to the day. That day could have easily been overdone and very impersonal. But I really felt like I was witnessing a true marriage and watching a bride that was honoring the traditions of marriage. It made me love them as a couple even more. William seemed so proud and happy. I loved his blush on the balcony as they kissed! I so look forward to the day when Jay and I say our vows and honor one another! OK – I might have just cried a little writing that. I think it was beautiful, traditional, meaningful, and a great day for them. And it looked like a great day for their whole country! Whoop.

Royally Adorable
OK – I’ve managed to contain myself thus far, but can’t do it any longer. Prince William’s wedding is on Friday morning and I can’t wait! I have a slight history with Prince William. Here are the highlights from our brief history. First, my mom and Princess Diana were pregnant at the same time. William and I were born just a few weeks apart. We were also engaged several months apart. William studied Art History and he has a proven love of brunettes. Also, on the Myers-Briggs personality test, I am an INFP, which is rumored to be the same personality type as the late (and great [astonishing]), Diana. She was really something! I think she is a great role model. Lovely.
Anywho, I want to send my congratulations to the couple! I really think William is a gentleman and was raised with a good head on his shoulders. And I wish Kate luck with the wedding and I wish her happiness, strength and self-possession in her dealings with her new family.
According to Wikipedia : INFPs focus much of their energy on an inner world dominated by intense feeling and deeply held ethics. They seek an external life that is in keeping with these values. Loyal to the people and causes important to them, INFPs can quickly spot opportunities to implement their ideals. They are curious to understand those around them, and so are accepting and flexible except when their values are threatened. Notable INFPs may include Princess Diana, George Orwell, Aldous Huxley, Audrey Hepburn, Richard Gere, Albert Schweitzer, Isabel Myers and J.K. Rowling.[3]
But I’m getting off track here. Is it a coincidence I have the same personality type as Diana? I don’t think so. It’s obvious William would have be keen on me. Keen, that seems more British, right? Hope you’re picking up the slight sarcasm and slight sincerity in all these statements. J

I love these photos! Classic and charming. I’ll be taking notes Friday morning for Jay and my big day! The only person I adore more than William – Jay Ellsworth (my own prince!!) Sorry for the cheesiness there, but sometimes I do feel like I won the man lottery. Just like Kate!

Rug Love
Joss & Main http://www.jossandmain.com/store/ has awesome daily deals. I’ve been a member for a few months but haven’t gotten anything, until now. I’ve been seeing these Jill Rosenwald handmade rugs all over the place and have been loving them. All the sudden, her rugs appeared on Joss & Main today and I quickly snagged one; nearly 50% off what they usually cost. I got this rug for our living room! Major big whooooop.
Whoooop, shut the front the door! I'm excited.
A special guest Blogger! Already!
So last night over shared fajitas (yum), I discussed my newly developed blog with Jay to make sure he was cool with me blogging my thoughts to friends. Turns out he's cool with it. He then said two things that were a little surprising. First, he said “I think it’s better than facebook. I’d rather read your blog than that.” That wasn't the surprising part. It's no secret. Jay is not the greatest fan of facebook. What surpised me was what he said next. He actaully asked “Well, can I write on it?”! I thought, cool. Then I said, “Yeah!”. I told him it would be nice if he would pick a day and that would be his day to contribute. So he said “Cool” and commenced to pick Fridays as his day to add his thoughts. I think he picked Fridays, because the lucky dog gets every other Friday off. A definite perk to working for the government. Warning: I gave him free reign, so this could get interesting! So starting next Friday look for posts from Jay about who knows what. I can guess there may be some Nebraska football posts, handy-man job reports, or general posts about things he is annoyed or excited about. I can’t wait to see these myself!
I found this photo, and for some reason it reminded me of Jay. Maybe because I make fun his sofa sometimes? Not that there’s anything wrong with his sofa, really there’s not. But let’s just say you wouldn’t see it pictured here ever: http://www.housebeautiful.com/.

The second post
This is still feeling very new and exciting! I think I'll just dive right in. I'll start with the condo renovations. First up, a minor but fun DIY project. My mom gave a lamp some time ago (pictured below). I have enjoyed it in my studio, but it's ready for a make over. I was inspired by a lamp I saw on http://www.horchow.com/, a site I like, a lot. I'm saying that in my head like Jim Carrey in Dumb & Dumber. Hopefully someone knows what I'm talking about..."I like it, a lot". Anywho, here are the before and after photos...
The Original
The Inspiration
The Progress
All that is left to do now is get a cool shade and paint the base of the lamp black. I found it impossible not to get the base red, so I figured, the heck with it and painted it red. I think it will be easy to just paint the base black with a brush; and it won’t take too long either. I plan to put this sweet baby in our new entry hall which is freshly painted with Behr's “Manhattan Mist”, which is a gray-purple color. More gray than purple, but I’ll post a final pic of the lamp in it’s final destination. Below is the color sample for "Manhattan Mist". Whoop.

The Blog Begins
It seems that all things should start with purpose. The purpose of this blog is to share the things I find that make my life worthwhile, happy, artful and exciting! Warning: if you don’t like positivism or happiness, you may want to stop reading here. Here’s the short list of where I am in my life: First of all, I just got engaged to the most wonderful man who I couldn’t love more! That’s pretty awesome, I could stop there. And we are very excited to spend our life together. We are also very thrilled about our new condo! Our life together is starting with our first home. Currently, we are in the middle of painting, remodeling, and decorating. A fun adventure for me and Jay. I’m lucky that this is a project we are actually doing together, and having fun doing (most of the time)! From 9-5, Monday through Friday, I work in law firm. A great law firm and feel very fulfilled by my job, but my passion lies outside the law firm environment and is in more creative endeavors. So this condo is the perfect place to let my inner artist out! And to top it all off, I have an amazing assortment of friends who are all remarkable in their own ways and I have a family that’s loving, interested, and involved!
So, that’s mostly what you’ll see here. Blogs about Jay and me and our adventures together. Blogs about the condo and the decorating projects! They’ve already started so look for some before and after photos soon. And there may be a smattering of wedding planning on here. We’ll see.
That’s it! Welcome to my blog!
